"Dr. Misty Getrich is passionate about inspiring others to explore and discover
their own greatest potential while restoring balance in their lives."

My Story

I am a Resilience and Wellness Coach and Health Practitioner passionate about whole person wellness and mind-body health. The combination of my education and experience allow me to inspire others to explore and discover their greatest potential while finding restorative balance within themselves and in their lives. I have over two decades of experience in providing support during times of crisis, trauma, and grief. I focus on stress management, grief and loss, self-awareness and relationships, nervous system restoration and regulation, and building resilience skills for life. My education has given me the tools to offer an integrative approach; ranging from neuroscience, neurobiology, somatic experiencing, body-based movement, self-compassion, mindfulness, positive psychology, strength-based mindset, and depth psychology.

To give full understanding of my background, I obtained my Doctor of Psychology with my dissertation research based upon stress in the fields of Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement. For seven years I provided psychotherapy and treatment services in a private practice setting. Prior to being in private practice I worked in the medical field for fifteen years; five years in the hospital as a CNA, ICU Technician, and Emergency Department Technician, and ten years on a 911 ambulance as an EMT. I have seven years law enforcement experience as a Deputy Coroner/Board Certified Death Investigator along with being a Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Health Practitioner. Each one of these careers has paved the path for the passion I have for whole-person wellness.

My proactive approach focuses mainly on prevention. Specifically, I address the missing link in health and wellness - getting to the root cause, which more often than not, is a dysregulated nervous system. I utilize an integrative approach with science-based modalities to help clients to reset their nervous system. I provide a safe environment for people to discover, cultivate, and restore from past challenges to create a place of healing within themselves. Once back to a regulated state, clients learn a proactive way to manage stressors and thrive in life’s challenges.

I am always learning and researching the best and most effective ways to help guide people in their journey to wellness. I use various techniques in the guidance process. For a list with more detailed descriptions, please visit my techniques page.

I am excited for this soulful, heart forward adventure and I look forward to meeting you along this journey.
