Service Description

The ocean, trees, flowers, birds singing, butterflies, oh, and oxygen – such lovely things in nature that can stimulate our senses to develop a peaceful state of mind. There is life all around us (and in us) that we may not appreciate daily. Zoom out to the solar system. Visualize our living, breathing planet Earth. We often forget that we are incredibly unique creatures living on such an amazing planet in the solar system, let alone the entire universe as we know it. Life gets busy and days fly by as we live on this densely populated planet. We order our giant-sized extra-hot coffees with sprinkles and fairy dust to provide a jolt of energy to get through our days. We must make a conscious effort to slow down and detach from life’s many distractions. Returning to nature allows us to leave behind the hectic, fast paced, high-tech gadget lifestyle we’ve adopted and become absorbed by. A wellness hike presses the pause button on life and reconnects us to the world we live in. We can stop being zombies on autopilot and become the gifted, brilliantly designed, majestic beasts that we are. On a wellness wander, we will stop and consciously engage our senses which not only calms and grounds us but also relaxes our body and mind while connecting deeper to the natural world around us. Yes, stopping to smell the flowers, the rain, the sound of the wind in the trees, or whatever sound/smell connects you to the Earth. Making the effort to stop along the way and bring conscious awareness to your senses will not only bring you into the present moment and connection with your surroundings, it also brings your mind and body back into a state of balance. The world is and always has been speaking to you, on our hike you will learn to listen. Spending time in nature has healing and restorative power. Being outdoors has many positive effects. Our body, mind, and soul will rejoice for the Vitamin D, decreased stress hormones, an increase in physical fitness, and opportunity for weight loss, happy neurotransmitters improving our mood, a healthy change in our daily environment improving attention and concentration. Look, listen, touch, taste, smell and take in the natural world we’ve spent so much time keeping out of our daily lives. Savor the silence. You would be surprised how much detail you can take in and how you can experience your surroundings in a whole new way when you learn to stop and engage.
